experiences

Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area

A sandstone headland offering one of the best viewpoints on the coast.

You'll experience all of the Pacific NW vibes  – soaring sand dunes, towering sea stacks and dramatic ocean cliffs.

From the top of the sand dune, you'll be rewarded with views that are unmatched from anywhere along the Oregon Coast.

Keep your eyes peeled for whales – the Oregon coast is a fantastic place to spot them, especially gray whales!

Tide pools

Low tide will allow you to explore colors and shapes that look straight out of a cartoon.  Plants and animals like purple and orange sea stars, fluttering anemones, squishy sea cucumbers and ruffly sea lettuce.

Neskowin Beach

This wide beach is rarely crowded and will allow us the opportunity to rejuvenate.

The highlight here will be Proposal Rock and The Ghost Forest.

2,000-year-old stumps from ancient Sitka spruce that spanned impressive heights of 200-feet. Only visible when the tide rolls out, you will be able to meander through these stumps.

A memorable beach picnic lunch.

Neskowin

A small town nestled in the forest and the sweeping hills of the Oregon Coast.

A place that seems to defy change, staying away from chain eateries, tourists and big hotels.

We'll revel in this remote area and their quaint Saturday morning Farmer's Market, a great place to check out the art, craft and food of the region.

Bob Straub State Park

Get a bit more wind in your hair and channel your inner buckaroo on a horseback ride into Pacific City's pride and joy, the 484-acre peaceful, wildlife laden beach park known as Bob Straub State Park.

Our ride will take us into the stand dunes and along the water's edge.

Not been on a horse before?  No worries - our guide knows exactly how to make your trot on the sand special for any level of rider.

A therapeutic and relaxing massage

Our in-house spa treatments will both pamper and revitalize.  You will find yourself exhaling just a bit deeper as you drink in the views of the Pacific while your massage therapist works wonders on your body, mind and spirit.

Bonfires right in the sand

There’s nothing like basking in the glow of a sunset bonfire while listening the steady and peaceful palpitating pulse of the sea.

A bonfire in the sand is a not-to-miss north coast tradition. Four nights of bliss - this is the stuff that memories are made of.

Munson Creek Falls

An easy ½ mile trail along Munson Creek through an old-growth forest of lush green foliage.

The sound of rushing water will take you to the stunning 319-foot Munson Creek Falls, the tallest on the Coastal Range.

The State Park is also home to the ancient red cedar and Sitka spruce, including one of the country’s tallest remaining Sitka’s at 260 feet.

Pacific City’s Farmer’s Market

A popular tradition on the coast.

You’ll find the freshest local produce, wonderful artisan craftsmanship, terrific music, and yummy eats!

It's a great place to find a souvenir of your coastal runaway.

Rockhounding

The Oregon Coast is a treasure trove for rockhounders!

You’ll likely spot colorful stones hiding amongst the “regular” ones on the shore right outside our door

Lucky beachcombers may even find a rare and elusive Japanese glass fishing float!

Pelican Brewing

We'll visit the epic patio of the only beachfront pub on the Oregon coast, Pelican Brewing.

If there's an experience that you do not wish to participate in, you are always free to opt out and either enjoy some down time at Runaway Janes' Beach House or make your own arrangements to do another activity.  Nothing is mandatory!
